2024 in Rhymes and Images
I decided to write a 20 line poem each week in 2024. I got a bit carried away in some weeks and wrote more than one poem! These 20 line poems come in different forms. Some are made up of 10 rhyming couplets, some have 4 verses with 5 lines in each and some have 5 verses with 4 lines in each. I also experimented with 2 verses with 10 lines in each - in these poems, the first 10 lines are in free verse format and in the second 10 lines I have tried to match the first verse, line by line, in rhyme and meter, which is probably the polar opposite of free verse! The end result is, well, what you see here. I hope you get some enjoyment from my collection.
555 In Search for truth
Laura D'Amore
Do you believe in miracles? In this short book which is my personal diary of the accounts which occurred within me that changed my brain circuitry and chemistry which allowed me to access transcendent levels of awareness. The supernatural event I experienced cannot be explained by natural or scientific laws, so I believe it to be the work of a divine agency. Deep spiritual meditation opened my eyes and brought my spiritual body to life. This caused a presence inside of me to become apparent in a way that sounds unbelievable. The events that have happened to me are mysterious and a miracle in themselves. God as we know is a mysterious wonder, all powerful and knowing. There are miracles every day, and my story is one of them.

The Optimistic Goldfish
Steve Wickens
This is my first brand new collection of poems for many years. It was refreshing for me to write new poetry without having to rely on my past work. There are 40 poems in all and are arguably lighter than what I wrote previously. Of course my thoughts about self worth and religion are still present in my writing, but there are several light poems that just reflect silliness and hopefully will create smiles. Poetry is a wondrous thing because it is a form of writing that can attract debates and discussion. It depends on the interpretation. These new poems are a gift to myself. I hope you enjoy them.
